Abigail Boone: Journal 4 - Landscapes of the Sacred (1-38)

In the book, the two main points that were made stated that a sacred place constitutes a break in the homogeneity of space and also that this break is symbolized in the opening by which passage from one cosmic region to another is made possible. A sacred place is most commonly know as a storied place. This essentially means that finding a place where you may feel the most connected with your upper power, allows you to communicate freely and be at peace. For some this may be communicating from earth to heaven or for others it may even be from earth to the underworld. By finding a sacred place, it is said to help keep the maintenance of the world in order by occupying the locations one may feel closest to. Another huge point made in this chapter was the importance of an axis mundi. It is believed that an axis mundi is the center of the world and if stumbled upon, is the easiest way to communicate and connect with your upper power.
