Jackie Stallworth - Choice of Topic 1

So I’ve just recently found out that apparently, God had a wife. The first thing I thought when I heard this was sort of just “What…? Why isn’t this common knowledge?” The second thing I thought of was “…oop some people are going to hate that”. From my understanding and what I’ve read, her name was Asherah and she was worshipped alongside Yahweh for many years. There is a theory that I saw that she became what Christians today know as the Holy Spirit. There’s also some pottery and other items alluding to her existence. Apparently, a lot of Christians argue that she was a Pagan and a false god and we shouldn’t worship her. I’ve also seen some people saying that God wouldn’t need companionship, and maybe he didn’t need it, maybe he just wanted it. I find this all very interesting, but also a bit suspicious. Because there have been so many editions and translations of the Bible, and so many things have been taken out and edited out to fit the beliefs of various people so I wouldn’t be surprised if she was taken out.
